Not sure why they don’t have a drain hole in this one. I knew it didn’t when I bought- just wonder why not?!

Not as good as it used to be.
Older version had a drain hole. This does not. Water pools and stays on the seat. Older version had a metal backing. This one has plastic and feels cheap, despite the price. Older version’s back was slightly reclined and felt better overall.

Used to have a white farm tractor style seat - the vinyl tore along the way and we had to replace. First was with the older NRS seat with a drain - which unfortunately "leaks" air so the padding gets compressed - replaced with this. It's ok. But the padding left us feeling like we are sitting on the bottom "pan". We ended up sending back. If the padding had been thicker / firmer I think we would have been better satisfied. We liked the simplicity (even without the drain hole as we thought it would last well). The screw holes were perfectly aligned to fit.

Great for the rowers position. Allows more back range of motion. And, lower height for widowmakers

Second rowing seat I have purchased from NRS. I also purchased 2 seats from cabellas there is no comparison the seats from
Cabellas lasted a couple of months and cost more the only reason I have to replace the NRS seat is because I stripped the bolts trying to take it off. It is surprisingly comfortable even with 8 hours on the river.

I have used other versions of tractor seats. One feature I like in other seats is a drain hole. I would have given this seat 5 stars if it included that feature.

Comfortable and lack of drain hole just not a problem (dry suit 90%). First issue is the seat bolt holes are recessed from the outer edge so if you are installing a seat slider you have to shim up the holes and get longer bolts. Second is that the seat length is a bit shorter that other seats I’ve used. It’s ok but takes getting used to. Third, the plastic back of the seat supporting the cushy part, while somewhat recessed is very, very sharp if you grab the back of the seat in a certain way. I’m carefully sanding it down. While it seems over priced I searched everywhere for a comparable light weight seat and couldn’t really find one. The back height doesn’t hit your PFD. If you have, excuse the phrase, a large rear end, you might not like it. The sides could be a bit higher to reduce side sliding but it works. It has the same need to carefully tighten the bolts as all plastic base seats.
Overall, acceptable and comfortable.

Really nice seat. Comfortable, though odd it doesn't have a drain hole like my clackacraft seats...
My only real gripe is the fact that the hardware didn't show up with my two seats. Pretty sure it wasn't stainless though, so no biggie. Please don't put carbon steel fasteners through aluminum!!!

Very comfortable seat. As a 64 years old retired bricklayer and coal miner, I find it's a little easier on my back than setting on the dry box for several hours.

Excellent product....last one lasted me 10 years :)
Fished for countless hours on my buddies boat, now putting it on my raft.
