Spent 6k, why not include the thwart?
Great boat. Although NRS is really nickel and diming us with the lack of D rings, third thwart not included, no front and back handles, no rub strips. A 15ft boat should be 4 chambers, not 3. It seems like the past few years they've really changed from building gear that'll be used hard and last to putting out products that are for the occasional hobbyist boater. Shame. Still a good boat though, good design, best deal I could get.

She floats and goes!
Freaking awesom raft. Could use a few more D rings around the outside tubes for strapping on gear. And tops of tubes could have an extra layer of tough PVC where frames rub. Overall an epic raft we will have for years cab carryba ton of gear with a few friends and still is a nimble dancr at low water!

Amazing raft with great tracking
The Otter is an amazing raft. I have used this both with an oar frame and as a paddle raft, it is a beast. The tracking is exceptional - it goes where you point it without much drift. We take our dogs often and it stands up to their nails and constant jumping around. After taking a few trips in the red rocks of Utah, it did stain slightly from all the orange mud, but after some scrubbing it does come off. If you aren't using an Oar frame, you would want to buy another twart - there is a lot of space between the two that come with the boat. No complaints and highly recommended!!

Going On 4 Years Of Alaska Use
I purchased this raft almost 4 years ago in Alaska. In over 600 miles of use from day trips fishing to week long expeditions in the Arctic this raft has made great family memories with very little wear & tear. It rolls small for easy transport in bush aircraft or car and for winter storage. I almost always use a frame on it and have added d-rings to the stern for additional support for a cargo platform and drybag tiedown. My only complaint is I wish the bottom was more slippery for low water runs. The Pennel Orca (hypalon) will grab every rock within reach of the raft. I'm currently looking at purchasing a 13' Otter for my sons to row separately.

great boat!
This is a great boat for medium and large rivers, plenty of cargo space for a 2-week Grand trip. Had it 3 years now, never needs extra air during a trip. Valves work well if you keep the sand out of them. Lighter than the Expedition model, but seems to be plenty tough for recreational use.

Why did you choose this?
Solid boat with good rubber. A little lighter than the expedition and a few less handles and d-rings but still get the same performance of the orca rubber
Self-bailing, durable, appropriate size for trips and trailer.
Needed a paddle boat, not a larger oar raft
The perfect compromise size for canyon trips, yet still able to paddle guide it on smaller western rivers
