  • Self-draining, volcano-style neoprene protects the latex wrist gaskets.
  • Coated nylon inner tunnel mates with your sprayskirt to keep your cockpit dry.

Overall nice jacket. Don't store tightly folded up in hot car in summer. Gaskets will stick together.

Great all-around top for everything except super-cold paddling
Absolutely love this top. I use it for ocean-surfing, and the neck holds 98% of the water out. A little wet around the shoulders, but that's to be expected for a neo-neck. Super comfortable.

NRS Stratos paddling jacket is a quality top at a great price
nice job and a great price. The neoprene neck gasket is snug enough that I'm not concerned about water seeping in. well made and great option for when I'm not in the mood to wear a regular drytop. I'm 5 foot 6, 160 pounds size 38 chest and the medium fits great but loose enough to wear garments underneath.

Quality item
Order a size larger then you normally wear. The sizing runs small.

Not entirely waterproof. But keeps you dry. Plenty of freedom of movement. But the neck gasket needs to break in at first

Mostly but if you are submerged for a longer period of time you will get some small
Amounts of water through the neck gasket.
This top differs from a true “Dry” top because the neck only has neoprene.
I have worn this top as late as early November in WVA for rafting mainly and I have swam in it in. I was fine and happier than most.

I am 6' 195 lbs 42 chest wear Lg in Tshirts and jackets. At top of large and lower third of XL. Which should I with for kayaking a Lg or XL?

I've always found paddle wear to be a little smaller than my normal clothing. I wear an xl in a shirt and found their xxl a much more comfortable/functionable top. I'm 5'8" with a 46" chest...195lbs. I ordered both xl and xxl and prefer the xxl when I need a semi-dry top, dry top, or any of the wetsuits.

Bill, both the Stampede and Stratos semi-dry jackets come in a long-sleeve and short-sleeve version. They all have a comfortable neoprene neck; the long-sleeve have latex wrist gaskets and the short-sleeve have neoprene arm cuffs. The Stampede is made with our 4-layer EclipseLT, a membrane waterproof/breathable material The Stratos is made with our HyproTex 2.5, coating waterproof/breathable material.
