Great pack
I used this on a trip to Quetico Provincial Park. We have long had the large Sealskin packs, which still work well but are somewhat unbalanced to carry. This pack, while smaller, did pack well and it was a pleasure to carry. On my six foot frame, it road high on my back and left my hands free to carry things. I would like a bit more capacity, and a bit wider and deeper would be great. My daughter is going to take it to the BWCAW now, and I think it will work well for her. I was able to carry a small tent, my sleeping bag, personal gear, a pad, and a few other items with room to spare. Small items fit between the stuff sacks easily. However, don't think you can cram stuff in like in a Duluth pack. The sides to not expand. I also learned to be careful to get a flat items in the bottom to "square out" the corners.

excellent dry bag
Really worried sand would foul the closure but all was well. It took some serious swims and stayed completely dry.
