Product Details

The Werner Kalliste's blades have an exceptionally light and buoyant feel on the water and offer silky smooth strokes. The mid-size design is perfect for average-size low-angle paddlers.
  • The volume of the buoyant, full carbon, blade creates an exceedingly light feel for effortless and confident strokes.
  • Curved dihedral blade face reduces "flutter" and enhances maneuverability, helping you smoothly link strokes.
  • The oval-shaped carbon fiber shaft provides a comfortable, secure grip with a light swing weight.
  • Werner's exclusive Smart-View™ adjustable ferrule gives you a convenient two-piece paddle that looks and feels like a one-piece.
  • The Smart-View system lets you quickly and easily adjust the offset, or feather angle, of your paddle in 15 degree increments with right- or left-hand control.
  • To keep your Smart-View Ferrule working properly, after each use take the paddle apart and rinse both parts of the ferrule thoroughly with fresh water. Store the two parts of the paddle with the blades up. And NEVER use a lubricant on the ferrule; that will collect debris.
  • Small diameter shafts are available and recommended for paddlers whose hand (from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger) measures 6 1/2" or smaller.

Product Tips

Care and maintenance: Adjustable ferrules are built with fine tolerances for a precise fit. Sand, silt or salt left inside the ferrule will interfere with adjustability. After each use, take the paddle apart and thoroughly rinse the ferrule with warm water. Dry before reassembling.

Solid feel to adjustable offset
I compared several Werner paddles as well as the small made wing epic. Ended up replacing my very old but trusty Camano paddle with the Kalliste which has the same specs but is much lighter. The adjustable offset works quite well and is easy enough to change even when I'm out in the middle of the sound. Changing the offset allows you to use slightly different muscles so you can paddle longer with less fatigue. Highly recommend this paddle for sea kayaking and highly recommend NRS for pricing and service.

3years + and still paddling
I paddle a 10 ' crossover and a 14' touring boat. The Warner paddle fits both and because it is so light but tough it is the paddle I always take with me.

I took a flyer.......
I fish the lakes and rivers of western Pennsylvania from a kayak. I've had a couple paddles and decided to take a chance on this one. I have always carried a short wooden paddle to use with one hand when needed to adjust orientation or when the other hand was busy. This paddle is so light that I can work it with one hand. I do a lot of trolling and can paddle all day with this one. It is everything that it's cracked up to be, albeit a bit pricey.

reduced numb finger problem
Bought this to reduce carpal tunnel problems that caused numb fingers after a full day of paddling with the club gear. While it didn't magically solve all problems, I'd say it reduced the next day numb finger problem by about half. I think the bent shaft, my selection of 30deg feather, and the lighter weight allow me to relax my hands a lot more while paddling.

Definitely expensive, but the quality of the product is there and it works well. I also like the fact that it comes out of the water quite clean and allows me to paddle with dry hands when the water is calm. The only negative is that the right hand side paddle sometimes flutters a bit if I hold it too loosely. I guess nothing is perfect.

Why did you choose this?

need a low angle paddle for my pack canoe and a lot of people recommend this particular model

Have a previous one and love it. Ordered one for my spouse and myself for new location.

I have several Werner paddles and am loyal to the brand as they are great paddles. I wanted the lightest paddle for sea kayaking, so chose full carbon paddle.
