Nice raft.
This one replaces my last one, which lasted me nearlt 20 years, and is actually still in service. I really like having the valves on the outside of the tubes to makeinflating and deflating easy even when loaded.

This is the raft you want!
The NRS E-140 is legendary on Idaho rivers. If you drive through Riggins in the summer you'll see dozens of these rafts on the Salmon River and stacked on trailers along the highway. I'm a former whitewater guide (ID, WA, MT) and have run lots of boats (Maravia, Avon, Riken, etc.) and the NRS E140 is my pick for a personal boat. The hypalon material is first rate, fit and finish is solid. The fabric is easy to field repair if needed with a simple glue and patch kit. The floor is ultra tough (built for rafting companies hard use) with multiple wraps. It has D rings everywhere to lash your gear. At 14 feet long, 7' 2" ft wide with 21 inch tubes, it's the perfect size for hauling gear and passengers on rivers like the Snake, Salmon, Lochsa, etc. It tracks well, self-bails quickly and can take a big hit without flipping. It handles very well (if you don't overload it) and it's pretty sporty for it's size. It's easy to hit your lines on the river with it and if I misjudge something, the boat is fairly forgiving and stable. With a light load on day trips it's pretty sporty and easy to sprint back and forth in more technical rapids. The downsides are cost and weight. It's built to last which drives up cost and weight. I run a NRS longhorn frame with a dry box and a 128 qt cooler. Still have room for several dry bags, etc. All in all an outstanding raft. A perfect size for drift fishing as well. It's heavy to roll up and load (around 150 lbs) so team lift with a buddy or roll it up on a cooler first, then flip it onto the tailgate. Better yet - haul it on a trailer if you have one.

Best Boat ever
You get what you pay for. I've got time in lots of different boats - I own two (other boat is 16 foot Aire Cat that I also bought from NRS) - but if I had to live with one boat the rest of my life I'd take my 14 foot (red) NRS E140. It's 10 years old and has had lots of use under tough conditions. Great in big water or skinny water - handles great even with a heavy load. Never had a leak let alone a tear or rip. It's been in airplanes, trunks, pickups and trailers - looks new. Love this boat.

Why did you choose this?
My son has had one similar for 30 years. Christmas, burthday, and a perfect gift for him and his family
Couldn't justify a 7k Moravia so I went with the 5k NRS that tracks well and is wider internal bay
